'Now 7' Remains On Top, *NSYNC At Two, Isley Brothers Make Impressive
Debut
Now That's What I Call Music, Vol. 7, the latest edition of the various-artists
compilation series, sold more than 394,000 copies in its second week of
release, according to industry sources, preventing *NSYNC from
regaining the top spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart for the
second week in a row. *NSYNC's Celebrity holds steady at
Number Two on sales of more than 243,000 copies.
Legendary soul group the Isley Brothers
scored the highest debut of the week, landing at Number Three after selling
more than 225,000 copies of the new album Eternal. The band took
a different direction in making the album, inviting several well-known
artists--including R. Kelly, Jill Scott, and superproducers
Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis--to write tracks.
Usher's third studio album, titled
8701, enters at Number Four on sales of nearly 211,000 copies.
Rapper Jadakiss (of the Lox) lands at Number Five with his
debut solo album Kiss The Game Goodbye, which sold more than 203,000
copies in its first week. Kiss The Game Goodbye features guest
appearances by DMX, Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, Carl
Thomas, Nas, Eve, Drag-On, Ann Nesby of
Sounds Of Blackness, and others.
Alicia Keys's double-platinum album
Songs In A Minor slides to Number Six this week. Teen pop superstar
Aaron Carter's Oh Aaron premieres at Number Seven after
selling 132,000 units. Rounding out the top tier, Staind's Break
The Cycle is at Number Eight, Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory
is at Number Nine, and D12's Devil's Night is at Number
10.
